Today we are at Longleat safari getting close up to outstanding predators and prey!!
Even getting to meet the big cats of the world!!
Giraffes live in Africa but don't be fooled by their cuteness, because the male has a devastating swing on their neck. Giraffes surprisingly have 7 vertebrae [the same as us] in their neck!! Click here to watch fighting giraffes.
Now we are going to talk about the Grey Wolves, deadly predators who work as a team to bring down prey 20 times the size of themselves! The Wolves have as their leader the alpha male and the alpha female. Wolves howl to communicate if they're in danger, how epic can it get?!
Hippos are only active at night which means they're nocturnal. In Africa Hippos kill 50 people a year in average. Hippos are also herbivores so if they killed someone they would just leave the body alone.
Hippos look like huge rocks in the water, fab!
Cheetahs have a little stripe down their eye acting like sunglasses, how cool is that? Cheetahs have spots all over their body for camouflage. Tigers are the biggest carnivores in the big cat family and their stripes are for camouflage too, amazing. Lions are also carnivores but to tell the difference the males have manes. The cubs are small but fierce because they play fight which teaches them how to hunt.
After seeing all those DEADLY animals I award the most DEADLY to the Cheetah, because of that 72 mph speed the Cheetah is obviously is the best!!
